Love apple cider? Then you are in luck, New Yorkers. This week (October 18-27) is Cider Week in NYC and the Hudson Valley. By cider they mean HARD cider so get ready for some from-the-tap fun. From hard cider tap takeovers at local bars to cider and cheese pairings - there are plenty of fun events to get it on. Stylish Spoon's picks for non-ticketed (read: not sold out) events during NYC Cider Week include: Heirloom, Cider & Modern Day Apple Variety Tasting - Apple and single-varietal hard cider pairings with the founder of Sin Cider. This is a FREE event, with an apple tasting of hard-to-find apple varieties grown in upstate New York. The event will take place at BierKraft, the awesome beer shop located at 191 Fifth Avenue in Brooklyn (Park Slope) on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 7-8pm. Free tasting event. Thirsty Thursday Cider Tasting at Whole Foods On Tap - Located next to the cheese department in Whole Foods Columbus Circle location, the event is on Thursday, October 24th, from 5-7pm. Whole Foods will be doling out FREE tastings of their favorite hard ciders in their in-store tap room at Columbus Circle. Free tasting event.

Tickets are also still available for Applepalooza 2013 - a celebration of all things apple at Astor Center in NYC. Located at 399 Lafayette St at E 4th Street, on Sunday, October 27th, from 2-5pm ($45/ticket). From hard cider to apple fritters, it's called an autumnal tasting extravaganza. There will be an abundance of apple-based libations, including spirits, ciders, and original fall cocktails.
