Party Favors :: Inexpensive DIY Favors {Homemade Cookies}
You don't need to spend a lot of money to make an impressive edible party favor. Homemade cookies stacked in a neat pile in a cello bag and tied with ribbon, yarn or twine are always a huge crowd-pleaser and make excellent party favors for just about any occasion. Who doesn't love a homemade cookie?!?
I like to make espresso chocolate chunk, peppermint bark or "kitchen sink" cookies (add a little of every cookie mix-in, such as chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips, shredded coconut, raisins, craisins or toasted walnuts) and give them as party favors. I usually bake the cookies the day before, sometimes freezing the raw dough in individual balls weeks in advance to save on party prep time, and wrap them up in advance so I'm not stressing over tying bows right before my guests arrive (though that has happened - it isn't the end of the world).
Mini coffee cakes, baked in muffin tins, are also a nice homemade edible party favor. If there's something you love to bake or a particular cookie your friends love, bake a double batch and give them as party favors. Guests will be thrilled to have a treat to enjoy after the party, and will be reminded of what a great hostess you are long after the party is over.
