Need a quick pick-me-up? Here's a great mood boosting smoothie recipe with only 4-ingredients. 


Not only do these 4 simple ingredients taste great together, they make for a powerful combo and will help boost your mood! Like our OatMEAL Cups, this mood boosting smoothie is packed with oats to keep you feeling full, and sweetened naturally with banana.

 

Mood Boosting Smoothie

Ingredients
  • 1 ripe banana (or frozen if you like a thicker smoothie)
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup oats (quick oats or rolled oats)
  • 1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk (like almond, oat, or coconut milk)

Optional:

  • 1 teaspoon elderberry syrup for added immune support
  • A handful of ice cubes if you’re not using frozen banana

Blend until smooth, and enjoy! This combo will give you a naturally sweet, creamy, and filling smoothie.

 

What makes these 4 ingredients so great?

Bananas are a good source if vitamin B6, which can increase serotonin and calm the body.

Spinach is a good source of of folate (low levels of folate are often associated with depression).

Oats are high in fiber to slow digestion of carbs and keep your energy levels stable.

Plant-based milk is high in protein and healthy fats to slow digestion of carbs (just be sure to choose unsweetened!).
